Lark has just announced its Limited Edition Christmas Cask release for 2019, describing it as a single malt whisky that perfectly encapsulates the Christmas spirit.
This cask was carefully selected from Frogmore Creek Winery to mature a fruit jus, handmade by local patisserie Jean-Pascal and used to create their Christmas fruit mince pies, giving the whisky some delicious, spiced maple syrup characteristics.
For some Christmas cake in a glass, you’ll need to visit their website pick up one of only 394 bottles, expressed at 43% and available at 500 ml.
Tasting notes from Lark:
Nose: Sweet mandarin and decadent caramel leads into biscuits and figs. Maple syrup drizzled over pancakes topped with cinnamon and nutmeg.
Palate: Orange peel-infused caramel pudding topped with spices. Dried fruits play off the rich, earthy oak.
Finish: Christmas cake in a glass.
